Closing Remarks: I’ll say this. I was pleasantly surprised. I understand the concept was for survivors to tell the story, but I think it could have added more to the documentary if they included journalists and cruise experts to lend their details. But for a documentary it was really well done. Although the competition is pretty weak….some really bad cruise shows out there.  But I digress. I would recommend this show to anyone that want’s to know what it was like to be on the ship.  Now that, they do a good job of.

08:00 pm

And we’re done. I’ll be back with some closing thoughts

07:59 pm

Lifeboats failing to launch due to the list of a ship is NOT a design flaw.

07:54 pm

Pretty neat infrared footage…

07:48 pm

NO DON’T JUMP! Never jump. Always stay with your ship.

07:47 pm

Response from rescue helicopter pilot when first looking at the partially capsized ship: “Look there. It’s underwater.”

07:40 pm

There really is no first hand account of the captain and officers leaving the ship. I’d be curious to know when and how that actually occurred.

07:39 pm

And now they’re playing the infamous Schettino and DeFalco audio tape.

07:37 pm

Using hammers to detach a lifeboat is typical if the pelican hook gets stuck.

07:34 pm

Ok so whoever shot this HD footage from the lifeboats looking back at the hundreds still on deck, really deserves credit for their work.

07:29 pm

29 minutes into it and we have our first Titanic parallel.

07:28 pm

…Talk about channeling your inner Jim Cameron….

07:28 pm

“The lifeboats are located on deck 4. There should be enough for everyone”…really…did they really need to say that.

07:22 pm

A passenger ran into a member of the engine crew who told them “there was nothing we could do. The ship is sinking.” This was before the pax were told to abandon ship, and while officers were saying that there’s only a blackout and to return to your cabins.

07:20 pm

Only then, did the coast guard contact the Concordia, who in turn notified them of a power outage but not of a collision.

07:19 pm

According to this documentary, the coast guard was first alerted by concerned relatives of crew and passengers who called home to say the ship had lost power.

07:09 pm

Wow crazy, crazy footage from the main dinning rooms. Right after the collision, mass panic broke out as everyone makes a mad dash to their cabins.

07:07 pm

They are totally confusing the passenger muster drill and the crew lifeboat training.

07:02 pm

How the hell did they get all this HD footage from the sinking

07:00 pm

And its begun…

06:34 pm

So before it starts, let me just go on record and say, I do not have my hopes up for this. There’s about a 87% chance that this is a trainwreck.
