BREAKING: Oasis of the Seas to Sail Europe in 2014

Very clever move by Royal Caribbean here. Traditionally vessels will drydock in the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport. However there are very few drydocks that are capable of fitting vessels the size of Oasis and Allure. Most of them are in Asia, the Middle East or Europe. Royal Caribbean chose Europe as the drydock of [...]

SOURCES:Captain of Oasis of the Seas was Onboard the Carnival Dream During the ‘Blackout’

Here’s a crazy story. According to one of my sources, the Captain of the Oasis of the Seas (Capt Patrik Dahlgren I believe) was onboard the Carnival Dream when she had the ‘blackout.’ He was enjoying a lunch and then the lights flickered. I had no idea that Captains visited other lines vessels. Pretty cool!

Oasis of the Seas Stops to Aid Broken down Fishing Boat

This must seem like a publicity stunt as Royal Caribbean’s rival, Carnival plc.’s Star Princess failed to stop for a broken down vessel, but the Oasis did exactly what the Star failed to do. I almost didn’t believe this when I first read  it, as it seems so soon, and ironic, after the news yesterday. [...]

Check out this old Royal Caribbean video on ship stability.

AnswerItRoyaly They don’t allow embedding. Sorry. Why does it seem that the Concordia accident kind of makes me second guess what they’re saying in this video?
