UPDATE FRIDAY:Carnival finally came clean with it. Turns out Mobile will lose all ships as the Elation will head to NOLA and do what the Ecstasy was supposed to do.
Port Canaveral beat Carnival to the punch by announcing that the current Galveston based Carnival Ecstasy will not head to NOLA as previously mentioned, but instead head to Port Canaveral. She will now sail out of the brand new Cruise Terminal No. 6 when construction is complete in June 2012. In the mean time it will use one of the others.
She will join the Carnival Sensation and Carnival Dream from the mid Florida port.
Oddly enough here is Carnival’s statement:
“We have not made any recent announcements regarding deployment changes and are not in a position to offer any further comment,” said Jennifer de la Cruz, a Carnival spokeswoman.
