Last month I spent a week onboard the Celebrity Solstice. I used this opportunity to document the ship for this tour.
The Celebrity Solstice was the first ship in the 5 ship strong Solstice-class. These were a brand new design for Celebrity and quite an increase in size from the previous Millennium-class. The Solstice was built in Germany at Meyer Werft and delivered in October 2008. One of the big design features of the vessel is the outdoor space onboard. Around 80% of all cabins have balconies and at the top of the vessel there’s even a real grass lawn that you can lay on and watch movies or play games.
While she was 14 years old when these photos were taken, she’s been refurbished to bring her up to the Celebrity standards that can be seen fleetwide.
VIEW CELEBRITY SOLSTICE DECKPLANS
As with all our reviews, we start out with the obligatory photos.
Random hallway:
Stairwell:
Elevator lobby:
Random carpet photo:
At the end of the deck is the second deck of the three story tall dining room.
Deck 03
Deck three is the bottom-most deck that can be regularly accessed by passengers. At the very front is the bottom floor of the Solstice Theater. This part can only be accessed from the deck above.
The deck really starts at the first elevator bank and is mainly outside cabins with a few inside cabins. The cabins end at the Grand Foyer.
This is the main atrium on the ship and goes all the way to the top with a glass dome to let in natural light. It’s a very impressive area without being glitzy or gaudy in any way. Very tastefully done.
Additional views looking straight up and looking up the grand staircase.
Off of the Foyer is the guest relations on port and the passport bar on starboard.
The end of the deck is the main restaurant.
Deck 04
The front of the deck is the main entrance to the Solstice theater.
Walking aft, passing the forward stairwell is the Quasar night club on the port side. During the day they have a Kinect set up.
Opposite that is the Celebrity Central comedy lounge. In between them is a nice open court open to the deck above.
Walking further aft is the Fortunes Casino on starboard.
On the portside is a very clever passageway. There are shops on the far side in a sort of shopping arcade style. Above there is a cutout to the deck above and windows against the outer bulkhead (wall) above that let in natural light. Because the deck above is recessed in due to the lifeboats, it lines up perfectly with the the shops.
Walking out of that area you are at the second level of the Grand Foyer. On the portside is the Martini Bar.
Opposite that is the Cellar Masters wine bar.
After the aft stairwell is the second level of the main restaurant onboard.
Deck 05
At the very front is the top level of the main show lounge.
Walking past that is the the top level of the entertainment court. The art gallery is portside.
There are additional stores on starboard. More stores continue down the ship on starboard.
The portside is that cutout as described below.
Walking aft, you are at the World Class Bar.
A small conference room is hidden off to the starboard side of the World Class Bar.
Then this is the last level of the Grand Foyer that you can walk all the way around.
On portside is the the Sushi restaurant.
On starboard is the Cafe al Bacio and Gelato shop.
Walking past that, the deck continues with a promenade on starboard.
Seen here is the Ensemble Lounge in the middle.
Off of that is the Michales Club which is their onboard space just for past guests.
Adjacent to that is the Murano restaurant where French cuisine is served.
Walking further aft, at the end of the deck, is a collection of the other speciality restaurants. Silk Harvest, the first Asian restaurant in the Celebrity fleet, is found on starboard.
On port is Blu, a dining venue with spa-style cuisine.
At the very aft end is the Tuscan grill, the onboard steakhouse.
Surrounding deck 05 is a walkable promenade. This is where the lifeboats are and this doubles as the lifeboat boarding area.
Deck 06
Deck 6 is all cabins. At the center of the deck, is the Celebrity iLounge.
Deck 07
Deck 7 is all cabins. At the center of the deck, off the atrium, is the Team Earth education center.
Deck 08
Deck 8 is all cabins.
Deck 09
Deck 9 is all cabins. At the center of the deck, is the card room.
Deck 10
Deck 10 is all cabins. At the center of the deck, overlooking all of the atrium down to the grand foyer below, is the impressive library.
Deck 11
Deck 11 starts with a bottom level of the spa. This area is called the Relaxation Lounge. At the center of the deck, overlooking all of the atrium down to the grand foyer below, is the impressive library.
Deck 12
Deck 12 starts with the fitness center at the very front.
The rest of the spa is here as well as the hair salon.
Walking past that is the impressive glass enclosed Solarium pool.
Walking past that is the ships main pool area. Of course there is a pool bar here as well.
The rest of the deck are all cabins.
Note that there is no deck 13
Deck 14
Deck 14 features the spectacular Sky Observation lounge. My favorite onboard (and favorite observation lounge on any ship).
There’s a conference center off on the portside. Exiting there is the top of the glass domed atrium. It’s an impressive view looking down.
In between the glass dome and the opening to the lido deck, is the Mast Grill and Bar.
The middle part of the deck is the outdoor sun deck that surrounds both pool areas below.
The rest of the deck is the Oceanview Cafe buffet area.
The very aft end is the outdoor areas to the cafe and a bar.
Deck 15
Deck 15 is split into two different sections. The forward end has the basket ball court.
Behind that is the teens and children’s area. The video arcade is here as well.
The aft section of deck 15 surrounds the funnels. Yes there’s two funnels on these ships. In between the funnels is the Lawn Club. Featuring real grass that they water each day and cut throughout the week, it’s such a surreal feeling walking barefoot on grass while at sea.
At the forward area is a glass blowing station where you can, while supervised, create glass sculptures in a real kiln.
At the end of the deck are Bocce courts.
The sunset bar is at the very end.
The best seat in the house!
Deck 16
Deck 16 only has a forward section. Here is the adults only Solstice deck.
