Having just spent an amazing week onboard the Regal Princess, I wanted to share a complete photo tour of the ship, deck-by-deck.
But first some background on the ship. The Regal Princess is a Royal-class cruise ship and is the identical sister ship to the Royal Princess. These classes of ships were built at Fincantieri and launched between 2013 and 2021 with the Regal Princess setting sail in 2014. The other 4 ships in the class (5 if you include P&O’s flagship Britannia) are the Majestic, Sky, Discovery, and Enchanted. These later 4 ships have slightly different layouts to the Royal and Regal. We covered the Majestic two years ago when I also cruised that ship.
The Royal and Regal Princess are a significant step forward from the incumbent class of ships, the Grand-class, as the Royal-class are larger in terms of tonnage, have a vastly built out central Piazza area, more percentage of balconies, as well as a redesigned main pool area. In fact, the Royal and Regal were technically built as prototype ships for Princess allowing their success to dictate the future of the fleet.
VIEW REGAL PRINCESS DECK PLANS
As per usual, we start with the obligatory photos to give us an idea of the ship. Also to note, I was cruising onboard in December so there were a lot of festive decorations all around.
Random carpet shot and elevator lobby.
Random hallway shot.
Deck 04
Deck 4 contains the boarding area while in port, the tender access area, and the medical center.
Deck 05
Deck 5 starts with the Lotus Spa at the very front.
Exiting that, and past the first stairwell, is the guest services area.
Also here is the Shore Excursion desk.
On the opposite side is one of the specialty restaurants, the Italian-themed, Sabatini’s.
Past that area is the bottom floor of the three-deck tall Piazza. A main, and always very popular feature on all Princess ships, is their reimagining of the atrium concept.
Off of the Piazza are a few bars and food areas. The International Cafe which has a Coffee bar, sandwiches, and pastries all day long.
Behind that is the Piazza bar.
On the opposite side of the ship is the Vines wine bar.
Behind that is the Gelato area.
Next to that is the Celebrations candy shop.
Off the starboard side is the internet cafe.
Off the far end of the Piazza is the first of three individual dining rooms, the Symphony.
The rest of the deck is the galley and not accessible to passengers.
Deck 06
The front part of the deck is the lower level of the main show lounge, the Princess Theater.
Exiting the bottom floor is the Churchill’s arcade.
Exiting that is the Princess Casino.
Walking through the casino is the second level of the Piazza. Here there’s the Alfredo’s pizza a la carte restaurant. Opposite that is the Photo gallery area on the port side.
In between the two is the Bellinis Bar. Great place for predinner martinis or champagne.
Past that, exiting the Piazza is the Concerto Dining Room.
Past that, and accessible from the deck above, is the Allegro Dining Room. The Chefs Table is located in the center of the Restaurant.
Deck 07
Deck 7 is the last of the low decks with public areas. As this is where the lifeboats are, there’s an exterior promenade along with a few outdoor deck areas amidships and at the stern. The stern ones are the outdoor smoking areas.
The very front is the top level of the Princess Theater.
Exiting that is the Art gallery and main shopping areas. The staircase descends right down to the Casino.
Through that is the top floor of the Piazza. On the starboard is more shops and the Crooners piano bar is on port. The Ocean Terrace sushi bar is right in between the two.
Through the Piazza the deck continues on the starboard side. The Captains Club and Future Cruise Center are here.
Past that is a nice promenade that goes through the rest of the deck. Here, at the start, is the Princess Live Bar and the Princess Live! theater. This is the ship’s TV production studio.
Past that is the Wheelhouse Bar which is just outside the Steakhouse, Crown Grill.
Past the steakhouse is the library on the starboard side.
At the end of the deck is the Vista Lounge which is the ship’s alternate lounge.
As mentioned above, there is a promenade that runs around the deck (though the front section is crew-only).
There are a few larger sections where they will put out chairs so guests can hang out here. Great place to watch the ship leave from port.
