Leaving T.Mariotti in Italy upon completion of outfitting. |
The Seabourn Sojourn was formally handed over from the ship yard to the line. This is the final step in the construction of the vessel and the first step for her new owners, Seabourn Cruise Line. The new ship is one of three ships ordered for the luxury brand for a cool USD$667 Million. The decision to expand the fleet from the current 1990’s built Seabourn Spirit, Legend, and Pride, comes from the brands parent company, Carnival Corporation. The Sojourn joins her sistership the Seabourn Odyssey, which was delivered last year.
The Sojourn measures 649 ft (198m) by 85ft (26m) and coming in at 32,000 GRT. She can accommodate 450 passengers in her suite-only 225 rooms. 90% will be in balconies. The signature venue onboard has to be the 11,500-square-foot (1,070 m2) indoor/outdoor spa pictured below.

Due to the ships smallish nature, they don’t have to rely on traditional mega-ship construction methods. The hull was constructed in Ci.Mar Costruzioni Navali at San Giorgio di Nogaro, Italy. It was then floated around Italy to T.Mariotti for the outfitting, or the furnishing and interiors.
