The 1965 built, and former Soviet liner, Marco Polo ran aground in Norway last night. The Cruise & Maritime Voyages ship hit a rock that “damaged its hull.” The damage was minor however she required a return to port. After a quick repair and survey, she was cleared to sail and left.
This incident follows a similar one with the Kong Harold running aground briefly last week in Norway. Lindblad’s Sealion also ran aground in Panama’s Pearl Islands. Both instances were not serious.
