UPDATE 12:12pm: According to a statment from Royal Caribbean: “#FreedomoftheSeas is alongside in Falmouth, Jamaica, as scheduled, and all systems are functioning. All guests onboard #FreedomoftheSeas have been accounted for and there are no reported injuries to any guests. All #FreedomoftheSeas crew members are safe and accounted for. One crew member was treated for a first-degree burn.”
This morning, while docked in Falmouth Jamaica, Royal Caribbean’s 154,407gt Freedom of the Seas suffered a small fire in a mechanical space on the top decks. From photos, it seems it was just aft of the funnel near the Windjammer buffet. Passengers went to their muster stations just incase. The fire was contained and quickly extinguished. According to a statement from the cruise line, all systems are functioning. I’ll post more as more information comes in so make sure to check back.
