We finally have some details on Empress of the Seas’ deployment for her first season back with Royal. Starting March 2016, Empress will be homeported in Miami.
Empress of the Seas will offer short 4- and 5-night getaways from Miami to Nassau, The Bahamas; Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Grand Cayman and Key West, Florida. The ship will stay longer in ports compared to traditional ships. And on select cruises she will overnight in Cozumel.
When the news first broke about Empress coming back, I had guessed shorter cruises out of South Florida or Cuba. I’m still confident that this will be the ship that Royal Caribbean uses for their initial Cuban cruises when that opens up sometime next year.
@DMPicone @RoyalCaribbean If I had to bet, I’d say #EmpressOfTheSeas would do 3&4 nighters or #cuba. Maybe #Bermuda again.
