Carnival’s German brand, AIDA, have officially taken delivery of their newest vessel AIDAperla. She is the sistership to the AIDAprima which, when launched last year, became the first cruise ship to feature the vertical axe-bow.
Their profile is rather unique and quite unlike any other ship out there.
After the traditional handover paperwork is completed the ship was ready to leave.
The ship has left Japan and is headed directly to the Med. She will be christened in Palma de Mallorca on June 30 by German model and presenter Lena Gercke.
This video shows the AIDAperla leaving Nagasaki. The interview with the Captain is naturally in German but we’re able to see the ship leave Japan.
