Connecticut based American Cruise Line have recently been delivered the 150-pax paddlewheeler American Eagle. The ship was constructed at Chesapeake Shipbuilding yard in Maryland. She’s scheduled to be christened by New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s wife, Cheryl Landrieu on April 25th.
This is the second Mississippi River paddlewheeler built and launched as part of their ambitious newbuild plan that will add two more vessel to their fleet, for a total of four paddlewheelers.
Interestingly enough, American Cruise Lines also owns another ship called the American Eagle. She’s been out of service and laid up for unknown reasons in Salisbury, MD.
