Warren, Rhode Island based Blount Small Ship Adventures just announced that they ceased all operations and put all three ships for sale. The line, formally known as American Canadian Caribbean Line, had been sailing small, Jones-act passenger vessels since 1966.
After the passing of their founder in the early 2000’s the company management went to his daughters to be split between the shipyard and the cruise line.
The firm will now focus solely on their shipyard operation where they currently have contracts to build offshore wind farm support vessels, ferries, and a small ice breaker.
Each ship is reportedly going for around $6m each.
