In Asia, Bohai Ferry has officially launched and are now sailing the ex-Costa Voyager. She was renamed to China Taishan. What was once the fastest cruise ship when she sailed for Royal Olympic Cruises, can now be seen sailing between Yantai, China and Incheon and Jeju, South Korea.
Last year Costa decided to divest themselves of any older tonnage that was deemed not economically feasible. She was built in 2000 so that makes her 14 years old. She was also designed for speed and with the increase and instability in bunker prices lately, there’s too much uncertainty whether she’d be profitable on Costa’s routes.
