UBS Investment Research is claiming that Carnival Corp. intends to place an order for 2 ships this summer. That would place them on track for delivery in 2017.
It is not expected that this will be delivered to Carnival Cruise Lines however. Carnival, P&O, Seabourn and Holland America currently have one newbuild apiece. The most likely scenario would be one for Costa and one for Princess.
UBS analyst Robin Farley then further theorizes that it wouldn’t be out of the question for Carnival to place the order for similar ships, and then decide the line they’d sail for at a latter date.
Could we be seeing more Royal Princess-classed ships here?
