Carnival Cruise Line will reposition three of its newest and largest ships to new homeports. Starting in September 2018, Carnival Vista will move to Galveston, Carnival Breeze will reposition to Port Canaveral, and Carnival Magic will shift to Miami.
Carnival Vista, will begin sailing from Galveston and offer two different seven-day western Caribbean itineraries departing every Sunday. She’ll be joining fleet mates Carnival Freedom and Carnival Valor who are currently sailing out of the Gulf port.
Carnival Breeze will sail 7-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral beginning Oct. 6, 2018. She’ll also sail the longer 14-night Carnival Journeys voyages. She’ll join the Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Liberty there.
Carnival Magic will sail 7-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises out of Miami beginning Oct. 6, 2018. She’ll also sail the longer 14-night Carnival Journeys voyages. The Magic joins the Glory, Sensation and Victory in Miami.
While it may seem that Miami is downgraded, going from Vista -> Breeze, keep in mind that the Carnival Horizon (the second Vista class) will be around by then and will probably be picking up the Vista’s itineraries.
