Photo Tour of the Discovery Princess

Deck 8

Deck 8 is all cabins. A lot of the balconies on this deck can be considered obstructed views as the tops of the lifeboats can be seen on top of the railings.

Deck 9-12

These decks are all cabins.

Deck 14

Deck 14 is the next deck. Princess ships adhere to the tradition superstition not to have a Deck 13 on any ships. On Deck 14 there are also cabins as well as the bridge at the very front.

Deck 15

Deck 15 is also just cabins. The forward facing rooms on this deck as well as the one above all have balconies.

Deck 16

The forward part of deck 16 is all cabins. At the first stairwell it transitions to outdoors and this is where the main pool deck can be found. At the start of this area are a two food areas and the main pool bar.

A standout feature of the Royal-class ships is the SeaWalk. Exclusive to these six vessels, the SeaWalk is a glass-bottomed walkway that extends 28 feet beyond the ship’s edge on both sides, providing passengers with stunning, unobstructed views of the ocean below. Possibly the most noticeable difference with these later ships in the Royal-class is the redesign of this area. Instead of a dedicated walkway, the SeaWalk has been fully incorporated into the lido deck. It makes the deck bigger and provides more space, but loses the exclusivity of walking out over the side of the ship in a walkway.

After the pools is the large pool bar the SeaView Bar.

At the aft part of the Fountains pool area, is an covered seating area, as well as the ice cream station for soft-serve.

Walking past that is WorldFresh Marketplace, the Horizon Bistro and Court on other ships.

Walking through that is an outdoor area where you can also take your food out to as well as the Wake View Bar and Wake View infinity pool.

Deck 17

The forward part of Deck 17 is also where the other changes can be seen in the these versions of the Royal-class of vessels. The forward part of the deck are all cabins and the adult’s only Retreat pool is here. While it may look small, there’s an entire adults only section of the deck above that surrounds it.

After the cabins, you are at the sun deck that entirely encircles the main pool one deck below. There are 4 hot tubs in this area as well as great viewing of the Movies Under the Stars screen.

The SeaWalk that extends out over the other side is a bit more of a cantilevered walkway.

Past that is a sun deck that runs on either side of the funnel. The outdoor deck of the teen areas is on port side.

Towards the back of the deck on starboard side is the Fitness center.

Opposite the fitness area is the Teen area, tween areas, and the kids areas.

At the very back of the deck is the open air Terrace pool. This is also where the smoking area is.

Deck 18

Deck 18 is split into two parts. The forward part is the Sanctuary which is an exclusive area with an additionally fee. It’s really the only place that provides you with a forward looking view over the bow.

The only forward facing view onboard:

Behind that is the adults only deck that surrounds the retreat pool below.

At the very end of the deck are two of the largest suites that Princess has ever offered, the Sky Suites. These measure a staggering 1,700 sqft. They almost compete with NCL’s enormous Garden Villas on their Jewel-class vessels.

The aft section is the sports deck with a jogging track that encircles the funnel.

Aft of the funnel is the enclosed sports courts that was mostly set up for pickelball.

Deck 19

Deck 19 only consists of an aft section. Here, just aft of the funnel, is where the mini golf is.
