The first six cruises on Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas have been canceled. The reason being given is the refurbishment is taking longer than expected. She was scheduled to be introduced today however today’s cruise and sailings on April 4, April 7, April 11, April 16 and April 21 have all been canceled.
She’ll emerge from the drydock with new pools, an additional restaurant and the enhanced shipboard internet service.
The Empress of the Seas originally made her debut with Royal Caribbean as the Nordic Empress. She spent the past few years sailing with sister-brand Pullmantur as the Empress.
