Holland America has just taken ownership of their newest ship the Nieuw Statendam.
She’s the second in the Pinnacle-class joining her sister the Koningsdam. Both ships are 99,500gt and can carry 2,650pax double occupancy.
The ship will start with a short Bahamas cruise on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 then sail 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages. Then next summer she’ll sail to Europe then back to Port Everglades for the winter. This routing is pretty common with Holland America ships.
VIEW NIEUW STATENDAM DECK PLANS
Deck 01 is all cabins with the bottom floor of the atrium.
One deck above is where the public areas start. At the very front is the main theater. Behind that are several other entertainment venues.
There are also four dining venues on deck 2.
On Deck 5 there are a few more public areas. There’s also the second floor of the main theater in the fore and the dining room in the aft.
The next five decks are all balconies. Midships on deck 05 is the Neptune lounge. This serves as the concierge lounge for suite guests.
Up on deck 09 starts the Lido area. In the forward part is the spa, midhsips is the pool. Aft of that is the main buffet and then at the very back is the aft pool.
The next two decks, 10 and 11, have cabins in the forward part. As this is a Pinnacle-class, one of the larger changes to the design from the previous Vista-classes is the addition of cabins, especially building them into the super structure above the bridge.
Then at the very top of the ship on deck 12 is the Explorers lounge. This is the forward facing observation lounge.
