Germany’s AIDA Cruises have announced that the christening of their latest flagship will be on May 7th. Her first cruise is scheduled to depart the week prior (April 30) so this is a bit unusual. On May 7, the AIDAprime and the AIDAaura will sail into the port of Hamburg together where the christening will take place. The celebration will be part of the 827th Hamburg Port Anniversary.
The ship completed her third and final seatrials last week and is scheduled for delivery from Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries after a year delay.
Details on her sister ship are still unknown.
