I was able to dig up some more details of the Breakaway Plus. The ship will cost 700 million euros. NCL was able to get the financing form the German bank, KfW IPEX-Bank.
CIN has more detials:
The ship’s contract price is approximately euro 700 million. The financing, which will be disbursed in US dollars, is covered by an export credit insurance provided by Euler Hermes and involves the favourable CIRR (Commercial Interest Reference Rate) for ships set by the OECD.
Seeing how this announcement surpirsed everyone in the industry, hopefully this is a good sign that NCL’s book are financially sound and the feel they have a strong market to fill these ships.
