No one was hurt when the MSC Preziosa was maneuvering to berth in Venice this morning at 0815 local time. The question really is why was the walkway overhanging the berth, allowing the ship to come into contact with it. If the ship didn’t hit the pier at all (which it seems is the case), then there’s nothing the vessel did wrong.
As Venice has always had a love/hate relationship with the cruise industry, expect the media to overreact on this.
