Here’s a new cruise line from an unexpected place: North Korea.
South Korea is currently planning on launching a cruise line designed to cater to South Koreans that want to travel to North Korea.
Apparently, legally, South Koreans can cross the ‘maritime border’ between the two nations. Cruises will depart from the South Korean island of Jeju and call at ports in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at Nampo, Wonsan, Rajin and Sonbong.
It looks like this plan is in several stages. Currently it is possible have Chinese pax sail there on a Chinese flagged vessel. The next step will be allowing South Korean pax (if they even would want to) to sail to North Korea.
