Genting Group has officially broken ground on North Bimini Island in The Bahamas. Their intent is to re-develop the island and add a huge resort with casino. The 750-acre property will feature almost 400 rooms. It is expected to be completed mid next year.
In addition to the resort, they will be adding a proper ferry terminal for the Bimini Superfast ferry. It will be located on the western coast right near the hotel. I wouldn’t be surprised, given the close proximity to Miami, if they get the occasional cruise ship stopping there before or after turnaround in a south Florida port.
