Royal Caribbean International and Macy’s today revealed the first look at the cruise line’s new float, which will set sail down the streets of New York as part of the 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®lineup. Dubbed “A World at Sea,” the float was designed by the creative artists of the Macy’s Parade Studio and will bring the cruise vacation experience to midtown Manhattan and beyond via three distinct postcard scenes which take place onboard a Royal Caribbean ship. The rotating scenes depict three “WOW” moments found only on Royal Caribbean, including the cruise line’s signature FlowRider surf simulator, thrilling zip line and iconic rock climbing wall.
The float will celebrate the November 2014 debut of Quantum of the Seas – the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s groundbreaking Quantum-class – and will feature a special, surprise performance. Quantum of the Seas will sail out of the New York area to exciting destinations in the Caribbean, including Labadee, Haiti and CocoCay, The Bahamas – Royal Caribbean’s highly-rated, private beach getaways.
