MSC Cruises is reportedly close to signing a deal with STX yards. The deal would be for two ships to be built at STX France. There would be an option for two more. There is no confirmed size the ships would be, just that they would be over 4,000 pax. That would be just larger than the lines largest class, the 137,936gt, 3,900pax Fantasia class. Total cost for two ships would be around usd$3.2 billion. That seems rather expensive to me, but these ships have the potential to be extremely large in size.
