Saga Cruises ship, the Saga Ruby, hit the pier while docking in New York Saturday Morning. While making a 90 degree turn into Pier 88 on Manhattan’s upper west side, the bow gently grazed up against a bollard. The hole was apparently big enough that “it was possible to see daylight through the gash in the ship’s bow.”
The ship then sailed for Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, NJ for the emergency repairs.
The Saga Ruby will leave two days late effecting the current cruise and possible future cruises.
