You may be wondering what the two have in common as they seem pretty out of place. Crystal ships that stop in Stockholm, Sweden, will offer the “Stieg Larsson’s Stockholm” tour. The late Stieg Larsson penned the Millennium trilogy which sold more than 27 million copies world wide. A Swedish production firm, Yellow Bird, turned the trilogy into 3 award winning films staring Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace. The craze is even hitting across the pond in the states with Social Network director David Fincher, directing an American version staring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The latter slated to come out this December. (As you may be able to tell, I am a huge fan of the franchise)
Now back to cruising, the shore excursion will take guests to the Södermalm part of Stockholm.
This one of a kind shore excursion will be offered on three summer Baltic voyages on Crystal Serenity: May 22-June 2’s “Baltic Explorer”; June 2-13’s “Regal Treasures”; and June 27-July 8’s “Jewels of the Baltic.”
Price is $118/person.
Crystal’s Vice President Land and Port Operations, John Stoll:
“Stockholm and Sweden play such a starring role in the novels, we thought this tour was not only a great, new way to showcase the area for Larsson fans, but also something different for those who’ve visited the city before. This excursion puts you in the plots, and really brings the Millennium stories to life.”
