I recently had the opportunity to tour the Scarlet Lady before she set sail on her first voyage this month. Let us take a look at this new ship featuring a new design for a new cruise line.
SCARLET LADY DECKPLANS
Lets start with the obligatory photos.
Deck 05
The forward part of deck 5 is all cabins with a mix of inside, solo inside, and The Sea View rooms.
Amidships is the redemptions spa. The fitness and cardio areas are in a different location, so this spa acts as a spa-only area as well as several additional pool options.
A bit further down on the deck is the Sailor Services helpdesk.
Aft of that, as the furthest back you can go are two different restaurants. On port is the Razzle Dazzle Restaurant. This is a vegetarian restaurant.
On starboard is the Pink Agave which is a Mexican restaurant and Mezcal bar.
Deck 06
The front part of the deck is the bottom floor of the main theatre, the Red Room.
Behind that is The Den Event Space. This is the ship’s conference and meeting rooms.
Walking back of that is the casino. This runs down the starboard side.
Found here is the entrance to the Manor Nightclub. Kinda trippy. And I bet it’s quite a struggle when you’re out to sea and have a few drinks in you.
Amidships is the circular staircase in The Roundabout. This is the main focal point of deck 06 and deck 07 but it’s nowhere near a traditional Centrum or Atrium found on others. Onboard a Virgin ship, it’s much more subdued.
Around, and just behind, the stairs are the tattoo parlor, Squid Ink, and the barbershop, Stubble + Groom.
There are also a few other shops in this area.
After this, between the second stairwell and third stairwell are two restaurants. On port is The Test Kitchen which is their cooking lab restaurant.
On starboard is Extra Virgin which is the Italian restaurant onboard.
At the very end of the deck, and only accessible from the deck above are The Wake Restaurant and Martini bar. The views from here were phenomenal. This is the ship’s steak and seafood restaurant.
Deck 07
Deck 7 is where the superstructure starts. As with these types of ships, there’s a large outdoor promenade that surrounds the deck and the superstructure is recessed inward all around. As with other vessels of a somewhat similar design, you can completely walk around the deck (however the jogging track is at the top of the ship). This is also where the lifeboats, MES, and rafts are located.
Inside starting at the bow is the Red Room performance area. This is the ship’s main theater.
Behind that, and past the forward staircase is the Sip champagne bar. There’s the top floor of the nightclub here as well.
Past that is the top level of the Roundabout.
Tucked around the corner on the port side is the Draught Haus tap-room.
Opposite that, toward the stern of the vessel is the Lick Me Till Ice Cream shop.
Past that, still on port-side is the Pizza Place.
Opposite that on the starboard side is the Ground Club coffee bar.
Past that is the Social Club which is a perfect place for an early afternoon drink and just a really nice place to lounge about. Also found here are the Arcade and the Loose Cannon. It’s a ‘dive’ bar and features underwater diving themed decorations.
The rest of the deck is The Dock and this runs to the outdoor space as well. If the weather’s nice I imagine everyone will be out here, if not then they’ll be in the Social Club.
