A sad end to one of the few remain companies that sail classic ships.
England-based Voyages to Antiquity operate only one vessel, the Aegean Odyssey (ex-Narcis, Aegean Dolphin, Aegean I). She’s been plagued with serious mechanical issues all this year resulting in her entire summer season being scrapped. She just started sailing again this week around the eastern Mediterranean but the financial toll from those cancellations was felt throughout the company. That’s the perils of operating a one ship line as it was just announced that at the end of October, they will cease operations. The company will shutter on October 31. Her final cruise will depart October 2nd and will conclude in Greece where she will be laid up for the foreseeable future.
